Crockpot Chicken and Noodles

It's been ages and ages since I've done a Tasty Tuesday recipe. Far too long, in fact. So Sherlock and I are going to remedy that.

Yes, really.

Since this is one of my new favorite recipes, and one that's easy to make and full of YUM, I thought I'd share it here with you. I've seen several variations of this online, so what was new to me may be old to you.

It's got chicken. It's got oodles of noodles. And so much flavor. It's comfort food at its best--and easiest. But in case you haven't yet deduced what it is...let's not keep you in suspense any longer: it's Crockpot Chicken and Noodles. Now come a bit closer and I'll share the recipe with you. Get ready now. The game is afoot.

Crockpot Chicken and Noodles


  • 1 Lb. Boneless Chicken Thighs (usually about 6 thighs)
  • 2 Cans of Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1 – 32 Oz. Box of Chicken Broth
  • 1 Stick of Butter
  • 1 – 24 Oz. Bag of Reames Frozen Homestyle Egg Noodles
  • Wyler’s Chicken Bouillon Powder
  • Garlic Salt and Pepper, to taste


  1. Put the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot.
  2. Add the Cream of Chicken Soup over the top of the chicken, and then the Chicken Broth.
  3. Put the stick of Butter on top.
  4. Put the lid on and cook on Low for 6 hours.
  5. Remove the lid. Take two forks and pull the chicken apart to shred it. It will mostly fall apart on its own as you move it around, so it doesn’t take long at all.
  6. Sprinkle in a teaspoon or two of the Chicken Bouillon, and some Garlic Salt and Pepper. Taste it. If you think it needs more flavor, add a little more of those seasonings until you like how it tastes. Honestly, I don't measure these. I just sprinkle and taste until I like it.
  7. Add in the Reames Noodles and stir. Cover.
  8. Stir the noodles every 20 minutes for an hour. Mine are usually done for me in one hour. Just taste a noodle to make sure it’s heated through. If it needs more time, I’d just add another 10-15 minutes and then check again until they are done.
  9. Serve and enjoy.

I will just add here that some variations of this recipe call for simple dried egg noodles. Trust me when I tell you that these will just not do, not if you want the real homestyle goodness of these Chicken and Noodles. The Reames noodles are unquestionably the best. Undoubtedly. Unequivocally. You can use dried egg noodles at your own peril. But it will *not* be the same.
